Bogotá, November 09 (OP). The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Colombia hereby informs:

1. That Sonia Pereira Portilla, the Ambassador of Colombia in Honduras, was ordered to return to Tegucigalpa on November 5th.

2. Her return was caused by the petition on the part of the signatories of the Tegucigalpa-San José Agreement (subscribed October 30th – in its numeral seventh), regarding the normalization of the relations of the Republic of Honduras with the international community, following the decisions made in light of the events that took place June 28th, 2009.

3. In a manner which is consistent with its observance for International Laws and the principles regulating relations among Nations, Colombia reiterates its support to the negotiated solution for the political crisis of Honduras, and urges the parties to continue the dialogue among Hondurans and their efforts to reach a national reconciliation and the strengthening of democracy.
