- Civil registrations issued by a Registrar: These must be certified by the National Civil Status Registry of Colombia.
- Civil Deeds and/or Civil Registrations issued by a notary: A true copy of the document taken from the original held in the archives of the notary with which it was registered, issued no more than 30 days previously. In either of these two cases, the document must be authenticated by the Superintendency of Notaries and Registration.
- Documents signed by natural or legal persons (Private): private documents are those issued by private persons or entities, which must be duly authenticated by a notary and presented personally by the person who signed the document or by recognition of a registered signature (in this case the notarial stamp must state “firma igual a la que se encuentra registrada en la Notaría (signature identical to that registered with the Notary). The document must be authenticated by the Superintendency of Notaries and Registration.
- Identity Documents: If the signature is not recorded on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs database, identity cards must be certified by the National Civil Status Registry. citizenship cards do not require any type of certification.
- Normal passport: An ordinary photocopy of this document must be presented.

- Alien’s Identity Card: an ordinary photocopy must be presented.
Note. Remember that the date of issue of the notary which grants the document will be taken into account.
