Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO)

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations - FAO, was created in 1945 and it currently has 191 members. Its main purpose is to guide international activities to eradicate hunger, act as a neutral forum where all the countries gather together to negotiate agreements and discuss policies and to help developing countries and countries in transition to modernize and improve their agricultural, forest and fishing activities, in order to ensure good nutrition for all. These roles make FAO the best forum for debates about agriculture and food security.www.fao.org.
