A visa may be transferred when the foreigner requires the authorization of an activity additional to that shown on his/her visa or because of deterioration, change or loss of his/her passport and when any clarification of change of occupation is requested.
Requirements
√ Payment for visa study: USD 50
√ Valid passport or travel document, in good condition and with a minimum of two blank pages.
√ Two (2) recent 3x3 photographs, facing the camera, in color and against a white background.
√ Original and photocopy of the passport data pages and where the visa it is wished to transfer is shown, except in the case of loss of the passport, in which case it must be stated in writing.
√ Copy of the alien’s identification card, as the case may be.
√ Certificate of migration issued by the Administrative Security Department - DAS within the previous three (3) months, unless the visa to be transferred has not reached the end of its term as a result of absence from national territory or of not having exceeded the term of the respective stay in Colombia, as set forth in Article 9 of Decree 4000 of 2004, amended under Article 2 of Decree 2622 of 2009.
√ “Commitment to report to the Administrative Security Department - DAS”, filled out and signed, in the case of holders of a temporary visa as spouse or permanent partner of a Colombian national, temporary refugee or person granted asylum and holder of a resident’s visa.
√ In the case of practice of a regulated profession, the foreign resident investor must present the documents permitting him/her to practice the regulated profession, such as the certification of equivalence or validation of the professional qualification, the provisional permit or license to practice or the professional registration or card.
√ For holders of other types and categories of visas, foreigners must update their occupation with the document certifying the activity authorized on the visa, providing he/she continues with the same entity and occupation. In the event that the foreigner has changed his/her employer or activity, he/she must process a new visa according to the terms established in Article 9 of Decree 4000 or 2004, amended under Article 2 of Decree 2622 of 2009.
√ In the case of transfer because of an activity additional to that authorized on the visa, foreign holders of temporary visas, as spouse or permanent partner of a Colombian national, temporary refugee or person granted asylum and as resident, must duly fill out the form “Commitment to report to the Administrative Security Department - DAS”. Holders of other types and categories of visas must attach the specific requirements established as appropriate to the additional activity whose authorization is requested.
