International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)

The IAEA is an independent organization of the United Nations created in 1957 by means of a Statute. It has 151 Member States, Colombia being a current member.

Its role is to increase the contribution of atomic energy to peace, health and prosperity worldwide. The IAEA works in three areas: the application safeguards and verification; the promotion of nuclear security and fostering civilian applications of nuclear energy. http://www.iaea.org/
