- Of age and with identification.
- Present the documents to be Legalized with the following requirements:
- Civil registration issued by the Registrar. The document must be certified by the National Registry for Civil Status in Colombia (Registraduría Nacional del Estado Civil).
- Copy of the I. D Card: Photocopy must be legalized by a Notary Public whose signature must be legalized by the Superintendence of Notaries and Registrations of Colombia.
- Copies of Public Deeds and Civil Registrations shall be requested at the relevant Notary Public where they were registered, that is, where the original deed or registration is kept. These documents must be certified by the Superintendence of Notaries and Registrations of Colombia.
- Documents signed by individuals: acknowledgement of signature before a Notary Public and the signature of the Notary must be legalized by the Superintendence of Notaries and Registrations of Colombia
- Once the document is legalized, it must be presented before the Consulate accredited in Colombia for the country where it is to be used.
- If the document is to be valid in a country with a language other than Spanish, a translation of same must be effected once the document in Spanish has been legalized.
- Once the translation is completed, it must be legalized.

Note: The individual or legal entity requiring legalization of more than 16 and up to 50 documents may present them from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM and they shall be returned the next day during the same business hours.
