Establishment of diplomatic relations

15 February 1982. Due to a need for urgent internal fiscal adjustments, Colombia closed its Embassy in Belize in 2002.

The Embassy in San Salvador, El Salvador, is concurrent for Belize.  

Other topics of binational interest

In addition to other multilateral global spaces, at the subregional level both Colombia and Belize are members of the Association of Caribbean States and the Mesoamerica Project.

Treaties currently in force

• Cultural Exchange Agreement between the Republic of Colombia and Belize. Signed at Belmopan on 12 December 1983 (in force since 1999).
