Para el año 2011, el Centro de Pensamiento Estratégico contará con diferentes eventos y publicaciones académicas. Se realizarán encuentros sobre Colombia y sus perspectivas globales y regionales, conversatorios con académicos y diplomáticos en el país sobre asuntos de importancia actual como lo son la crisis en el Magreb y Asia Occidental y la situación en África Sudsahariana, y por último, se publicarán algunos artículos estratégicos acerca de los temas tratados en los eventos realizados.

Upcoming Events:

Lecture / Asia-Pacific Forum: Jointly with the Office of the Asia Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, the CPE also works at the “Cátedra Asia-Pacífico” and the “Foro Asia-Pacífico”. The purpose of these is to gain thorough knowledge of the commercial dynamics and policies of the Asia and Pacific region in order to establish a specific integration roadmap of the country with those economies.  

Cycle of Conversations with former Ministers of Foreign Affairs: Likewise, jointly with the Diplomatic Academy, work is being prepared for a cycle of conversations with former Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Republic. The first lecture was on July 5, 2011, in charge of Dr. Guillermo Fernandez De Soto, where he highlighted some of the several nuances from his literary work to explain the new trends in Colombian Foreign Policy.  

Event on Colombia/Turkey Mediation (September): To review the different experiences of the Colombia and Turkey mediation and share the different experiences lived in Latin America as well as in Europe and Asia.

Event on Revision of the Arab Spring (October): To conduct a thorough assessment of the events that took place at the end of 2010 and the beginning of 2011 in North Africa and the Middle East with the purpose of updating information gathered at the first roundtable of CPE on the Arab Spring.
