In the left menu you will find the different classes of temporary visas abroad which may, depending on the type of activity that will develop in Colombia:

  • Visa TP1: For the foreigner that wishes to enter Colombian territory as a student, student-intern, professor, professional or titled technician whose purpose is to carry out internships, conferences or language assistant and enters Colombia based on existing international cooperation treaties in which Colombia is a member or sponsored by the ICETEX – Mariano Ospina Perez; and/or when sufficient proof can be demonstrated that accounts for cultural or academic exchange programs or activities.

    And for a holder of a diplomatic passport who enters the country temporarily in order to develop activities different from those purely diplomatic.

    And for an international dissertation jury of a Master’s or Doctor’s degree, or as a conference speaker, expert, invited member of academic investigation programs; or as a personality of recognizable international prestige invited to develop projects and programs that promote the transfer of knowledge and new technologies in different disciplines without the existence of contractual bonds whatsoever.

    By virtue of Law 1556 of July 9th, 2012 that “encourages Colombia as a place for international cinematic footage”, and whose a part of the artistic, technical and production crew necessary for the production of the said movie.
     

  • Visa TP2: For the foreigner who wishes to enter Colombian territory as a crew or member of an International Transport Company a Fishing Company or Dredger. 

 

  • Visa TP3: For the foreigner who wishes to enter Colombian territory to engage in an academic program, with a grant or without it, in a certified educational/formation center or in virtue of an Exchange program or internship. Also when the foreigner wishes to enter Colombia to acquire knowledge of an art or profession.

 

  • Visa TP4: For the foreigner who wishes to enter Colombian territory because of a job opportunity or service contract with a person or company in Colombia or with an artistic, cultural, or sports group that enters Colombia with the purpose of a show or concert.

 

  • Visa TP5: For the foreigner that wishes to enter Colombian territory as a member of a religious cult or creed recognized as such by the Colombian State.

 

  • Visa TP6: For the foreigner that wishes to enter Colombian territory as a volunteer or cooperation agent of an NGO or non profit organization recognized as such by the Colombian State. 

 

  • Visa TP7: For the foreigner who wishes to enter Colombian territory for the following activities: Retiree, partner or owner of a business, to receive medical treatment and for the foreigner who is accompanying the one getting medical treatment; owner of a property in Colombia or for the exercise of professions or independent work activities. 

 

  • Visa TP8: For the foreigner who wishes to enter Colombian territory for the following activities: To adopt a Colombian minor, to buy real estate, and to intervene in judicial or administrative processes.

 

  • Visa TP9:For the foreigner who wishes to enter Colombian territory as a refugee or asylee decreed by the national government as such specifically by the Advisor Commission for the Determination of the Condition of Refugee and in conformity with the current international instruments on the subject. 

 

  • Visa TP10: For the foreigner who wishes to enter Colombian territory as a spouse or permanent companion of a Colombian national.

 

  • Visa TP11: For the foreigner who wishes to enter Colombian territory for activities of tourism and rest. 

 

  • Visa TP12:For the foreigner who wishes to enter Colombian territory to assist and/or participate, with our without work contract, in academic, scientific, artistic, cultural and sports events and/or to present an interview for a selection process for public or private entities, a business academic program, commercial or business contacts and journalistic coverage.

 

  • Visa TP13: For the foreigner who wishes to enter Colombian territory to provide technical assistance in his/her area of expertise, with or without, work contract to public and private entities. 

 

  • Visa Mercosur: Temporary resident permit valid for 2 years that can be issued as long as the country of the foreigner has equivalent measures for Colombian citizens. In observance with the principle of reciprocity this permit currently can only be issued to nationals from:

    Argentina, Brasil, Bolivia, Perú, Chile, Ecuador y Uruguay.
